Mantra academy is a recognised leader in providing design education among the industry fraternity in India, especially in the field of automotive design.
The objective at Mantra academy is to provide relevant training through fast-paced curriculum encouraging its participants to perform at their highest levels. Time is an important factor while learning a skill. An individual performs when there is a goal with a stringent timeline and, it gets boosted when there is a mentor to guide through the challenging phase encouraging to experiment, fail and succeed.
The intent is to put through its candidates into industry relevant training because the faculties imparting training at Mantra academy are industry veterans with decades of experience working in global marquee firms.
Projects done at Mantra academy are industry focused, hence the difficulty in learning to match industry requirements need passion, energy and dedication from the participants.
The design studio provides sufficient space to work and interact. Infrastructure at Mantra academy is thoughtfully built to provide the necessary exposure in working at a design studio. We provide digital equipment like Wacom Tablets, Cintiqs, 3D Printer, Mockup materials and Stationery to all participants.
We have a reading space curated with books from various areas in design and technology. The seating is to encourage the readers to stretch their body to relax or to take a quick nap after prolonged exposure in the design studio.
The play area has games to encourage to use motor skills after continuous exposure to digital devices.
The mockup studio has materials to work on quick mockups or prototypes. 3D printers can be used to realise the virtual surface models into reality. In some cases, the entire prototypes were built using the 3D printers and through secondary surface operations.
The admission process is through an online application on our website and then a selection interview with our faculties. Less than twelve candidates are selected for each program and100% attention is given to each candidate participating in the program.
Each batch is a mix of individuals with diverse culture and backgrounds. For instance, we have a candidate who is fresher with no exposure to design working along with an experienced individual from another design school or a company. Interestingly, the performance of candidates varies based on their involvement. At times, we have seen a candidate from a small town with no exposure to design performing better because of their personal aspirations along with support received from the faculties.
Mentoring doesn’t stop at training alone, it proceeds towards portfolio preparation and presentation skills.
